In a study, performed by the Medical Science University of Iran, scientists separated 88 women with extra weight problem into 2 groups.
For a period of three months the women from both groups were having a healthy diet and they consumed less than 500 calories a day. The only difference was the use of spices. The first group consumed 3 grams of cumin every day. These women mixed the cumin with 140 grams of yogurt and ate it every morning on an empty stomach. The second group also consumed yogurt but without cumin.
What was unbelievable was that the first group of women after a period of only 1 month lost amazing 14 pounds more than the second group.
Because cumin is rich in filosterole, it prevented retention of cholesterol in the first group of participants which is the main reason that they lost that amount of fat and weight via boosting their metabolism.
